Tip for Navigating the New Library Web

Use the search box at the upper right of the Affinity web pages to search the entire Affinity intranet website, including the library pages. This handy tool can help locate that elusive link or document that you know is there -- somewhere on our intranet.

Important Notes about what this search does NOT do:

  • This search box does not search the whole Internet, but just the Affinity Intranet site.
  • It does not search within specific resources (For example, you can locate the link to Ovid-MEDLINE with the Affinity search box, but you'd have to use the OVID search box to find answers to your more specific research questions.)

Example :
1) In the Affinity Intranet search box, type Healthweb.
2) You should get a short list of results with Healthweb posted first. This entry even includes a short description to help you decide if this will be a useful link.
3) Click on the title "Healthweb" to to follow the link.

Congratulations! You've just successfully used the Affinity Intranet Search Utility!

Old AudioDigest Tapes Available - Free to a Good Home

The MMC and STE Libraries have 1 year's worth of old Audio Digest tapes available for FREE. Although these tapes are too old to apply for CE credits (2001), they do still offer a lot of good information for Physicians, PAs, Nurses, and other health professionals.

Subject areas include the following :
Urology, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Opthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology.

The MMC Library also has the following series of tapes to give away :
Practical Reviews in Radiology (2001)
Practical Reviews in Nuclear Medicine (2001)

Look for them on the book sale tables at each library this month.

Why are we giving them away?
--limited shelving space for audiovisuals
--CE credits are available only for 3 years since date of publication
--Our libraries emphasize the most up-to-date info, so we want to make room for more recent issues.

New Blue Library Web

The New Blue Library Web [Affinity Intranet only] replaced the old web this morning. The old library web will be available for a time, but will cease to be updated any longer. We bid it a fond farewell!

We invite your comments and suggestions on the new Library without Walls : Contact Michele Matucheski, Affinity Librarian, at (920) 223-0340.
