Articles sent via PDF upon request @ Affinity Libraries

Earlier this year, both the Mercy and St. Elizabeth Hospital Libraries acquired new multi-function devices (MFDs). The new machines allow library staff and our users to photocopy, print, fax, scan and email pdf documents.

The machine at the Mercy Library also does color photocopies and color prints.

This means we now have the tools to scan a print article and email it to you. Just ask!

Under the Fair Use clause of the copyright law, we can provide a single copy of an article for your personal use. Further reproduction of the article is prohibited by copyright law. (In other words, don’t share the article with 10 of your closest friends unless you get copyright permission and/or pay royalty fees …)

Question : Does the Library have access to any online dictionaries?

Answer : Yes. We have 3 medical dictionaries and 1 general encyclopedia available online through the library webpage.

Here's the path to get there:

Start at the Affinity Intranet Page
Click on :
> Library
> Find Books and Audiovisuals
> Electronic Bookshelf
> Scroll down until you see the drop-down menu for Select a Subject
> Choose "Dictionaries and Encyclopedias"
> Click on GO
This should bring you to a list of dictionaries we have available online :
Dictionary of Medical Acronyms & Abbreviations
Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia
Stedman's Medical Dictionary
Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary
Clicking on the title or the url should bring you to that particular eBook.

Let me know if you have any more questions. We're here to help!
