The AccessMedicine™ from McGraw-Hill mobile view features an essential portion of the site's content optimized for the unique size and speed constraints of mobile browsers. To that end, the following content is available in the mobile view:

To access the mobile version of the site, you must log in using a personal profile name and password created at http://www.accessmedicine.com/.  If you have not created such a profile, please visit the site on a nonmobile (regular) browser, select the "My AccessMedicine" tab, and follow the directions for creation of a personal profile. Once complete, you may return to the mobile view and use that username and password to access the site.

From the Mercy Archives : Dr. William Clark's Medical Bag


This well-used doctor's medical bag belonged to Dr. William "Bill" Clark,  a respected surgeon at Mercy Medical Center from 1932-1974.

Some of the contents of Dr. Clark's medical bag included the following :


Medines in glass ampules.



Blood Pressure Cuff



Stethoscopes



Flashlight, scope, cotton swabs



Various scissors, tweezers, and other tools.

From the Archives : Lab Antiques

The MMC Lab was cleaning out some closets recently and donated the following items to the MMC Library Archives :


Sterile Saline Vessel was used to prepare reagents for laboratory testing and microbiology media for bacterial and fungal cultures.






Haemacytometer was used to perform red-blood cell (RBC) counts and white blood cell (WBC) counts. Read more about this item at the BCMA Medical Museum.

Both items will be on display at the MMC Library for a limited time.

This is the book is recommended by MMC President, Bill Calhoun.
