The CDC has a new web page under Emergency Preparedness and Response, providing info on surviving a Zombie attack : Social Media : Preparedness 101 : Zombie Apocolypse.
The CDC uses this horror movie disaster as an example of how to prepare for a real emergency (like fire, flood, or tornado). Enjoy!

We've Got Kindles!
The Kindle Project was funded by a grant through The Mercy Health Foundation to purchase 2 “latest generation” Kindle eBook readers with wi-fi, along with 30 start-up eBook titles.
• eBooks focus on Management & Leadership
* Literature and Medicine / Nursing (aka Narrative Medicine)
• with a few free classics thrown in.
During this initial pilot, Kindles may only be checked out by MMC Staff.
Checkout includes :
1) the Kindle device
2) the USB/power cord
3) a protective leather cover
4) a carrying case
5) the quick-start guide
6) and a book light.
You'll be able to search the internet, but will not be able to download titles wirelessly for the MMC Library Kindles. That said, new title suggestions are encouraged, and may be submitted to the MMC Librarian in advance.
Let me know if you want to check out one of the Kindles!
• If they are all checked out, we’ll put you on the waiting list and let you know when one becomes available.
If you already have a Kindle of your own and want to borrow one of our titles, we can make that happen. This allows you to read one of our titles on your own device for a limited time.
